Our Mission... Advantage Learning Center is dedicated to enabling students of all ages to meet their potential. When students believe that they can achieve their goals, the daily tasks of homework, test preparation, and the overall learning process becomes easier. Confidence is a major factor for success. It is our belief that students have the ability to be successful. Providing exposure to the arts through Drama, Music, & Visual Art, enriches and completes a chilld's education. Our job is to enhance this ability and promote self-confidence in each student in order to encourage the acceptance of daily challenges and promote the desire to improve achievements.
Our History... Advantage Learning Center was developed by its current director and owner, Dianne York as a means to help students with after school tutoring in a one-on-one setting. After 20 years in the classroom, an apparent need was to reach students one at a time, on their level, and in their approach to learning. With individual needs being the main focus, Advantage Learning Center has expanded to include a growing Homeschool Assistance Program in addition to the Tutoring Program. This enables students to take advantage of a small group tutorial setting to meet the curriculum needs in the core subject areas, or schedule individual tutoring sessions designed to meet their particular needs in all subjects, for all ages. Advantage Learning Center was started in 2000 and has continued to increase enrollment, requiring a waiting list during each school year. With our focus on student needs, and the importance of varied learning styles, the mission continues. Advantage Learning Center has expanded to offer a comprehensive Homeschool Assistance Program that includes small group instruction as a part of a Homeschool Tutorial. The ARTS program completes the education of the entire child; Mind, Body and Spirit.
